This policy explains how Obscura Privacy Solutions collects, uses, and protects information submitted through this website. For privacy questions, contact contact@obscuraprivacy.com.

Information we collect

When you submit a project inquiry, we may collect your name, email address, optional phone number, project type, project city or ZIP code, film preference, project details, calculator measurements, and any photos or plans you choose to attach. We also receive limited technical information needed to operate and protect the site, such as request timing, browser session identifiers, and security signals.

How we use information

We use this information to respond to your request, assess glass and installation requirements, prepare an estimate, communicate about your project, prevent abuse, maintain our records, and improve the reliability of our services. We send promotional information only when you separately choose the optional marketing subscription and complete any required confirmation.

Service providers and disclosure

We use service providers for website hosting, protected file storage, authentication, customer communications, and lead management. Klaviyo may receive inquiry contact details and project information so we can send your confirmation and manage follow-up. Photos and plans remain in protected website storage and are not uploaded to Klaviyo or displayed publicly. These providers process information to support these services. Google and Meta also process the optional tracking information described below under their own terms and privacy policies.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transaction. Obscura does not sell inquiry contact lists. When you allow optional tracking, website event and technical information is disclosed to Google for analytics and, with separate advertising permission, to Google and Meta for advertising measurement. These disclosures may constitute sharing under applicable privacy law.

Storage and retention

Inquiries are stored through the website’s hosting and storage services. The inquiry management area is limited to authorized users. We retain project information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, provide services, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention time varies according to the project and the type of record.

Necessary website functionality

We use local browser storage to remember your explicit privacy choices. If you continue from the budget planner to the inquiry form, session storage temporarily carries your measurements into that form and is cleared after a successful inquiry or when you remove the estimate. Administrator sign-in uses authentication cookies. These functions are separate from optional tracking. You can browse, calculate an estimate, and submit an inquiry without Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Meta Pixel. If browser storage is unavailable, choices apply to the current page and we may ask again when you navigate or return; optional tracking does not start by default.

Optional analytics: Google Analytics

Only after you allow Analytics, Google Analytics 4 measures page visits, budget calculations, and successfully submitted inquiries. Google receives technical information such as page addresses, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers. Our integration excludes URL query strings and fragments from the page addresses we configure and does not send your name, email address, phone number, message, measurements, or uploaded files as analytics event parameters. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. When consented inquiry events are recorded, session storage helps prevent duplicate events. Google processes received information under its Privacy Policy.

Optional analytics: internal visitor notifications

When enabled and only after you allow Analytics, we send an internal arrival notification to our team through Resend. It includes the landing page without query strings, approximate city or region where available, referring website hostname or campaign tags, broad device type, and visit time. It does not include a visitor name, email address, precise coordinates, or raw IP address. A random browser session identifier prevents repeat alerts while you browse; a new visit starts after 30 minutes without a recorded visit update. Server deduplication records are retained for up to seven days and removed on subsequent activity. Delivery records and internal emails may remain with our email providers. Opting out or using Global Privacy Control disables these notifications. Resend processes the email contents to provide delivery.

Optional advertising: Meta Pixel and Google Ads

Only after you allow the disclosed Advertising purpose, Meta Pixel and Google Ads measure page visits and successfully submitted inquiries to evaluate advertising performance. Google and Meta may receive page addresses, browser and device information, cookie and ad-click identifiers, and an opaque inquiry reference used to prevent duplicate conversions. The Google Ads inquiry event is sent only after the website confirms that your inquiry was saved. Opening the contact page or clicking the submit button does not trigger this successful-inquiry event. Session storage also helps prevent duplicate inquiry events. We do not send inquiry contents, uploaded files, names, email addresses, or phone numbers as tracking event parameters. Automatic contact-detail collection, enhanced conversions, and Google ad personalization are disabled. Google Signals is also disabled. Automatic advanced matching and automatic event configuration are not enabled by our Meta integration. Google processes received information under its Privacy Policy. Meta processes received information under its Privacy Policy, including the uses described there.

Choosing and withdrawing optional tracking

Optional tracking stays off until you expressly allow its category, regardless of your location. Before permission, we do not load the optional Google or Meta tracking scripts, send their tracking events, or send cookieless measurement pings. Each category controls its own destinations: allowing Analytics alone does not enable Google Ads or Meta Pixel, and allowing Advertising alone does not enable Google Analytics or internal visitor notifications. The initial banner offers equally accessible “Accept all” and “Essential only” buttons, plus “Privacy choices.” In Privacy choices, you can allow Analytics and Advertising separately, both, or neither. Opening or closing the panel, scrolling, browsing, and changing a toggle without saving do not give permission.

Use “Privacy choices” in the footer of any public page to review or withdraw permission, then select “Save my choices.” We remember valid explicit choices from previous visits, including opt-outs. When Advertising is expanded to include Google Ads, an earlier Meta-only acceptance does not enable the expanded purpose. We ask again before enabling Advertising, while preserving your Analytics preference and previous advertising opt-out. Previous automatic US analytics is not treated as consent. Missing or unrecognized choices stay off until you choose. Withdrawing permission stops new event calls from our website for the affected category, clears pending website events, tells Google and Meta that permission has been withdrawn, and removes accessible first-party tracking cookies where technically possible. Code already loaded from a provider may finish requests already in progress or send consent-state signals; withdrawing permission cannot recall information already sent. We cannot remove cookies set on another company’s domain. Choices apply to this browser and website origin; you may need to choose again on another device or browser.

Global Privacy Control

When your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Google Analytics, Google Ads, internal visitor notifications, and Meta Pixel are disabled, even if you previously allowed them or select “Accept all.” The preferences panel shows both optional categories as off and unavailable while this signal is active.

Your privacy choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information you submitted, or opt out of marketing messages at any time. California residents may also have rights to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request correction or deletion, and receive information about disclosures. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. To make a request, email us using the address below and include the email address used for your inquiry so we can verify and locate the record.

Children

This website is intended for adults seeking residential or commercial installation services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect submitted information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website, services, or legal requirements change. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.
