Find the Right Smart Film for Your Space.

Compare smart film viewing and privacy appearance. We’ll help you consider the light, views, and privacy needs of your home or workplace.

Compare the Finish. Check the Performance.

Start with the room and the result you need. Compare viewing appearance, privacy appearance and light transmission in conditions like yours. Then check panel sizes, controls, installation requirements and written product coverage.

Illustration of VEIL film appearance

VEIL

A clear appearance. A white frosted finish.

VEIL pairs a clear viewing state with a white frosted privacy state. Consider it for bathrooms, living areas, meeting rooms, and interior partitions where a lighter appearance suits the space.

ECLIPSE

A grey appearance. A grey privacy finish.

ECLIPSE brings a noticeably grey tone to the glass without reading as black. Consider it for street-facing rooms, offices, and interiors where a darker architectural finish suits the design.

Considering a Darker Film?

Discuss the exact product and its measured light transmission before choosing a darker finish. A dark appearance does not establish blackout performance.

Compare Light Transmission and Haze.

These figures use the manufacturer’s Clear, Deep Grey and Black color labels. They are manufacturer-reported values, not independent testing or an installation guarantee. Confirm the exact product specified for your project.

ON means the powered viewing state; OFF means the unpowered privacy state. Haze describes light scattering and is separate from light transmission. The sheets report switching times of ≤10 ms from OFF to ON and ≤200 ms from ON to OFF. Power figures are per square metre of film; controller losses and operating time affect system consumption.

The Black film still transmits light: its sheet lists more than 5% visible light transmission in the OFF state. It should not be described as complete blackout. Grey and Black sheet tolerances are reproduced as written; their interpretation should be confirmed with the supplier.

Performance depends on the specified product and installation conditions. Review a physical sample in the intended lighting. Ask for the applicable written warranty and care instructions for your selected product.

Wall control and smart-home interface for privacy film

Choose How You Want to Control It.

Keep it simple with a dedicated remote, with included components confirmed in your quote. For a more integrated installation, we can also plan a wall switch or coordinate compatible smart-home and building controls.

The right option depends on the film, wiring route, control platform, and when we join the project. Planning during framing gives the cleanest path for concealed wiring, but finished spaces can still be assessed for retrofit installation.

Choosing Your Smart Film

Practical answers to help you plan.

Ask About Your Project
Which film should I choose?

Begin with the privacy you need, the view you want in clear mode and the finish that suits the room. VEIL has a lighter white-frosted appearance; ECLIPSE has a grey appearance. Compare the specified products in relevant lighting before deciding.

Ask about your space
Does a darker film give better privacy?

Color alone does not establish the privacy level. Light transmission, haze, lighting contrast and viewing distance all matter. Compare the specific product’s viewing and privacy states, rather than choosing only by the color name.

Understand appearance and privacy
Is frosted film the same as blackout film?

Frosted privacy film still transmits light. The supplied black-film sheet lists more than 5% visible light transmission when switched off, so it should not be described as complete blackout. If you need a dark bedroom or projection room, discuss that requirement separately.

Will it reduce heat, glare or UV exposure?

The deep-grey and black technical sheets list UV resistance of at least 99%. The clear-film UV entry needs clarification. These sheets do not provide verified heat-rejection or energy-saving figures. Confirm the selected film and glass configuration before relying on a performance claim.

How long does smart film last?

Service life depends on the product, installation, environment and care. Ask for the selected manufacturer’s guidance and operating conditions. An expected service life is different from a written warranty; neither should be assumed from a generic hour or year claim.
