Building and remodeling
Plan Smart Film Before the Walls Close.
The film goes on after the glass is ready. Some of the most useful decisions happen much earlier, while the framing is still open.
Identify the glass and the privacy goals
Mark the openings or partitions that need privacy. Include the window schedule or room list if you have one. Explain how each room is used and whether adjacent panels should operate together or independently.
Coordinate control zones and accessible components
Decide where the user should operate each zone and discuss the proposed control platform. Power supplies and connection details must suit the specified system and remain accessible where required. Do not hide components permanently just to create a cleaner photograph.
Review the wiring route with the project team
Coordinate with Obscura and the project’s electrician or system planner before drywall and finishes conceal the routes. Cable and component requirements are system-specific. This guide is a planning checklist, not electrical installation instructions.
Allow for moving panels and finished details
Sliding, folding and hinged doors need additional attention to movement and power transfer. Frameless glass and narrow frames may leave connection details visible. Review the intended finish before ordering the film.
Confirm readiness before film application
The glass must be installed and ready for preparation. The work area must allow a clean, protected installation, with access and the required electrical readiness confirmed. Coordinate other trades so later work does not damage the film.
Keep Planning
Product-specific recommendations and commercial terms must be confirmed for the actual installation.
